Helping the homeless with hats

After knitting hats and scarves for months, the ladies who started the Facebook page "Helping the Homeless with Hats" finally delivered their handmade gifts to the homeless in downtown Seattle on Sunday.

Jessika Mann and her mother and grandmother made hundreds of hats and scarves to give away to the homeless at Seattle's Union Gospel Mission Men's Shelter. They also received donations from friends and the community.

But they didn't stop at the hats and scarves, they also baked cookies and cooked up some hot dogs to feed the hungry folks at the mission.

From the "Helping the Homeless with Hats" Facebook page:

"Was a FANTASTIC day - they allowed us to do it inside, which was wonderful for us but even greater for the homeless as it gave them a couple of hours to sit and be warm! ...this is something I wish to continue for the remainder of the year and even years to come! Being there on Sunday, seeing the faces of those in need light up with such happiness and appreciation was an overwhelming feeling. I am going to continue to help those in need and I hope you will too."
