Rachel the Piggybank turns 25 on August 17 - and you're invited to celebrate!

Minus a month-long "sick-leave," Rachel has been collecting donations for the Pike Place Market Foundation since 1986. Here's how the market is honoring her:

• Join the online celebration! Help Rachel raise $2,500 and reach 2,500 "likes" through her Facebook campaign during the month of August. "Like" the Market Foundation Facebook page and spread the word to everyone you know! Don't forget to follow Rachel on Twitter and send her birthday tweets on August 17!
• Give a Buck & Wish Her Luck! From August 7-20, you can "Give A Buck & Wish Her Luck" at participating Market and other downtown businesses. Donate $1.00 in Rachel's honor at checkout and have an adorable paper pig with your name displayed in the business.
• Take home a souvenir! Visit the Market Foundation tent near Rachel from 10 AM to 5 PM on Aug 3-17 (Wed, Sat, Sun only) to purchase this new branded reusable shopping tote. Cost: $5.00 (includes tax).
• Come to the birthday bash! Join us for the culmination of Rachel's birthday week at Sunset Supper on August 19. Make a final toast to our porcine princess as you sample and sip your way through the offerings of some of our region's best restaurants, wineries and breweries. Purchase your ticket today before the event sells out! Must be 21 to attend.
