Ground broken on new Stadium Place project | Development
Title (Max 100 Charaters)
King County Executive Dow Constantine joined other local leaders as ground was broken on a new development north of Century Link Field. The mixed-use development will include housing, a hotel, office space, and retail.
The new development will take up much of the north parking lot, which is now used heavily during Seahawks, Sounders and Mariners games. In a deal struck last week, much of the lost parking will be made up with the use of a Metro employee parking structure located at 6th and Royal Brougham.
The first phase of the project will reportedly cost developers $180 million dollars but is expected to generate more than $727 million in economic activity for Pioneer Square over the next decade.
