Title (Max 100 Charaters)
Urban lofts, waterfront views and 99.99 percent walking scores are just some of the perks for paying the big bucks for downtown Seattle living.
Get a peek inside some of the most distinctive living spaces in the Pike Place Market, Waterfront, Belltown, Denny Triangle and South Lake Union neighborhoods during Urban Living: Downtown Seattle Home Tour benefitting the Pike Place Market Foundation on Sunday.
Tickets for the self-guided walking tour costs $25 presale or $30 the day of the event. The tour lasts approximately two to three hours.
This annual event is a benefit for the Pike Place Market Foundation, a nonprofit organization that raises money to support the Market's four human service agencies for low-income and elderly residents of downtown Seattle. Collectively, these agencies support more than 10,000 people each year. In 2010, money raised benefited:
- 25,000 clinic visits for thousands of uninsured patients at the Pike Market Medical Clinic
- Access to quality early education and nutrition for nearly 100 children at the Pike Market Child Care & Preschool
- 40,000 free hot meals for homeless and low-income seniors at the Pike Market Senior Center
- More than 259 tons of groceries at the Downtown Food Bank
